To NONMEM users who have UNIX systems:
In the current version of Users Guide III (NONMEM IV Installation), UNIX examples are given using both Bourne Shell and C-Shell syntax. On the other hand, the On-line help diskettes contain only a C-shell version of the nmhelp script, and no one has ever asked me for a Bourne shell version.
In the next version of Guide III (NONMEM V), there will be more extensive examples, including shell scripts (on the distribtion medium) to make the installation and running of NONMEM easier. It would be less confusing for everyone if we can supply only C-shell versions.
Is there anyone whose system *cannot* run a C-shell script, and who requires Bourne Shell (or some other shell)?
If you are not sure if your system has the C-shell, you could try this:
Enter the command
If the output is (e.g.) one of
then your system can run csh.
Please respond directly to me.
(Sun Solaris 1 & 2 users, and UNICOS users: no need to respond, I know that the C-shell can be used.)
